Join ASTHO’s Contraception Access Learning Community for the first of four online learning opportunities focused on pharmacist-prescribed contraception!
This four- part online learning series will dive into the intricacies of implementation of pharmacist prescribed contraception. Over the past 10 years, 1 in 4 states have introduced, codified, and implemented policies allowing pharmacist-prescribed contraception (PPC), a safe and effective means of expanding access to contraception. Establishing state-based policies that facilitate PPC is just the first step; implementation of PPC often faces numerous challenges including navigating payment for services, data systems, workforce engagement and training, and public dissemination.
This ASTHOConnects will focus on foundational knowledge surrounding PPC. This webinar will orient PPC within the larger movement to expand access to birth control and reproductive justice and describe the key elements of pharmacist prescribed contraception models and policy implications on implementation of PPC.
At the end of this webinar, participants will:
- Gain better understanding of the role of pharmacies in contraceptive access.
- Be able to describe policy pathways to pharmacy access to contraception.
- Have examples of best practices and pitfalls of PPC policy implementation.
Don't miss this immersive experience to enhance your knowledge and champion contraception access within a pharmacy setting. Register now for this virtual offering.
